‘THE LEGENDS OF SRI LANKAN KAFFIRINYA’ Replaces ‘Five Star Explosion’

Giving serious thought about his health conditions after undergoing surgery, the back to back sell-out concert, Rajiv Sebastian, has decided to present ‘The Legends of Sri Lankan Kaffirinya’ on October 16 at 7.00 p.m. at the BMICH.

‘In fact I were to do an act with Sunil Perera of Gypsies, by bringing a car on stage and since I was advised not to take that sort of risk with my life, I was compelled to bring in ‘The Legends of Sri Lankan Kaffirinya’ featuring Desmond de Silva (who had a very successful concert last July at BMICH), Sunil Perera, A.E. Manoharan, Nihal Nelson, Mariazelle Goonathilleke, Indrani Perera, Luke Henriques, Paul Fernando, Somasiri Fernando and Anton Jones.

It is also planned to bring back memories through original voice tracks of the legendary Wally Bastian, M.S. Fernando, Claude De Soyza, Maxwell Mendis and Maxi Leonard by way of choreography as a tribute.

While Vijaya Corea would handle the day’s proceedings, Rajiv & the Clan will be joined by violinists, trumpeters and percussionists to regenerate the acoustic sound of the 60’s and 70’s.

The music loving public who purchased tickets for ‘5 Star Explosion’ are requested to either exchange their tickets to be apart of ‘Legends of Sri Lankan Kaffirinya’ or collect their refunds at the same outlets from Wednesday October 7.

Tickets are priced at Rs. 3,000/=, 2000/=, 1,000/= 750/= and 500/= at Nastars - Ground Floor, Liberty Plaza; KND Enterprises - Supermarket, Nugegoda; Cool Planet – Pelawatte, Battaramulla; Vibrations – Union Place, Colombo 2 and Nishani Record Bar – Moratuwa, Opp. Police Station. For further inquiries please call Rajiv Sebastian on 0714 700433.
