Be inspired and be successful with the British Council at the Colombo International Book Fair

Enter a world of information when you visit the British Council stall at the Colombo International Book Fair 2009 held from September 19 to 27 at BMICH. At the British Council stall No A58, you can learn about the range of services offered by the British Council Library and also obtain library memberships at a discounted rate.

British Council Sri Lanka currently serves over 20,000 members, the highest number amongst British Council libraries worldwide. We offer a range of learning opportunities for adults and children. Our collection consists of a comprehensive selection of books on Management, Business studies, Fiction, Contemporary UK lifestyle, Exam support material for Edexcel and Cambridge examinations, Teaching support material for English language, British periodicals and much more.

We also provide a Young Learners Centre in the library, which offers a comprehensive collection of children's fiction and non fiction, educational workshops/leisure activities, and online resources to help children improve their English and other educational needs.

The English Learning Zone of the library offers learners and teachers a range of UK English language material including books, CD ROMS and online resources to help them achieve their learning and professional goals.

In addition to the above services, the British Council Library also offers support to those following international exams such as IELTS, Business English Certificate (BEC) and others through online resources and test preparatory material.

You will also get the opportunity to get more information on UK examinations and resources available at Examinations department and the English courses available for adults and children.
