Rowing Nationals at Bolgoda

The 25th Rowing Nationals scheduled to begin on Monday, will now start on Wednesday. Sources at the Rowing Association told the Sunday Times that the reason for the change was because of the venue.
This year’s nationals will be held at the Bolgoda Lake instead of the Colombo Rowing Club (CRC).
At the CRC, races could only be held in the afternoon. As a result it would take at six days to finish the events. The new venue can host events even in the morning. Thus the Nationals can be completed in four days.

Over 200 competitors from 14 Institutions will be vying for honours at this year’s National’s.
