In our report on 23rd Sunday we stated that top seed Shamal Dissanayake won the Under 14 boy’s singles at the Junior National Tennis Tournament held at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) Courts beating Yasitha De Silva 6-1, 6-2.
We had also stated that Dinushki Ranasinghe won the Under 16 Girls singles title by defeating Shankarai Thayakaran 6-2, 6-2, which was an unintended oversight.
In fact Thayakaran beat the same opponent in Dinushki Ranasinghe in the under-16 singles as well as the under 14 final. Fourth seed Thayakaran played consistently well in her own pace and also defeated the top seed Ranasinghe. We regret the error |
