East and west combine for Rhythm ‘N’ Fashion

Leading models will take the ramp at Rhythm 'N' Fashion, a fashion show organised by the Holy Family Convent Bambalapitiya Past Pupils’ Association at Cinnamon Lakeside (former Trans Asia Hotel) on September 13 from 6.30 p.m.

The fashion show will have the best of both worlds, East and West- the Western segment showcasing the designs of Ruchira Silva of Rebel while the Eastern segment will have a more ethnic focus- the latest collection of sarees and shalwars by Geebees. The show will be choreographed by well known former model Geraldine Bandaranaike.

Stalls located near the poolside will be open from 5.30 p.m. onwards, giving guests a chance to snap up some bargains. There’s also entertainment lined up with a musical extravaganza by Bathiya and Santhush along with their team- Umara, Randir, Ashanthi and DJ.

The event is being held as a fund raiser to set up an archives for Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya which has a rich history spanning over a century.

The main sponsor for the show is Harcourts (Pvt) Ltd, makers of Sureslim and Biona, with CIC Vetcare (Pvt) Ltd, Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel and Oak Tree – the entertainment store for music and movies – as co-sponsors. The media sponsors are the Sunday Times and Lite FM, TNL Radio Network and Derana.
Tickets priced at Rs 2,000 inclusive of a snack, are available at Rebel - Majestic City & Crescat, Geebees - Duplication Road and Janet's Salon - Ward Place, Colombo 7.
