The travel company of choice for over 6 million students worldwide: STA Travel

International Travel is continually on the rise and the number of students and young people taking significant journeys will increase at an even faster rate and STA Travel firmly believes that travel changes people's lives for the better. The world's largest travel company for students and young people represented in Sri Lanka by Go Holidays Private Limited, offers exceptional arrangements to various countries.

"Currently our fares to London are the most competitive. We have student discounted fares on the entire Sri Lankan, Emirates and Qatar networks, including New York, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Toronto. The student can also get 30KG's baggage allowance which is a huge plus point. Our fares out of Melbourne and Sydney are extremely competitive as well. Using our own tickets we are best able to meet the needs of the market - both to create new products and to use our own resources rather than those of airlines, to give advice and provide changes when necessary to their flight arrangements" stated Dileepa Weerasekera, Assistant Manager, Operations at STA Travel.

STA Travel's core products include flights, land products (hotels and hostels), insurance, global customer support and International Student Identity Cards (ISIC). The student specialist has special agreements with over 100 airlines, including SriLankan Airlines and its 'Blue Ticket' is at the core of its business. This allows STA to offer air tickets to students at a significantly lower price than the market fare. Specially bonded contracts supported by the company's bankers provide total security for both partners and customers.

Most of STA's customers hold an International Student Identity Card (ISIC), International Youth Travel Card (IYTC) or International Teacher Identity Card (ITIC). Backed by UNESCO, these cards reward student, youth and teacher status by providing value offers and discount opportunities. All cards are regulated by the International Student Travel Confederation of which STA Travel is a leading member.
STA Travel's global research reveals that while some of today's students and young adults find the concept of free-spirited travel romantic, the majority actually find the process of finding the right trip and making the travel arrangements stressful.

This is just one but very crucial area where, STA Travel has been able to offer the necessary guidance and support and as a result STA Travel has won the trust and confidence of such segments purely by way of word of mouth in many countries.

STA Travel is represented by Go Holidays Private Limited; an IATA approved outbound travel specialist and the sister company of United Holidays (destination management) and United Air Services (representative of United Airlines and Air Canada).
