Rohana, P’kumara and Aslam in quarters

The pre-quarter finals of the frame format National Billiards Championship got underway at the Billiards and Snooker association billiards table yesterday.

The first of the evening session’s games saw Prasanna Pushpakumara of YMBA overcoming stiff resistance from Galle’s K. Devapaura 4-2 while the experienced S.H.M. Aslam of MSC too underwent some anxious moments before getting the better of M. Uvais of Galle.

The three games also saw breaks of 50 being achieved one by YMBA’s Pushpakumara and two by MSC’s Aslam.

Results: Anil Rohana (Carlton BC) beat Pawan Santani (OAC) 4/0 (100/74, 102/99, 100/27, 100/47). Prasanna Pushpakumara (YMBA) beat K. Devapura (Galle) 4/2 (100/56, 100/39, 102/57, 18/100, 92/100, 101/82). S.H.M. Aslam (MSC) beat M. Uvais (Galle 4/2 (100/65, 100/70, 90/100, 44/100, 100/53, 100/77).
