Marking World Photographic Day

The National Association of Photographers- Sri Lanka (NAPSL) will mark World Photographic Day on August 19 with a seminar at the Mahawelli Centre Auditorium from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The keynote address will be delivered by Prof. Chand-rasiri Rajapaksha, head, Mass Communication Department, University of Kelaniya.

Well-known cinematographer M.D. Mahindapala will talk on Visual Language while Dominic Hindle will deliver a lecture on the Art of Wedding Photography at the seminar.

Those interested in attending the seminar could register in advance with the NAPSL.

NAPSL's award ceremony for the island-wide photographic competition held earlier will be at the National Art Gallery in Colombo on the 19th at 3 p.m. This exhibition will be open free of charge to the public from August 20 to the 23. A critique and Q & A session will be held in the gallery on Saturday 22nd evening from 5 to 6 p.m.

NAPSL established in 1980 has several well-known photographers and a large student body among its membership. It is affiliated to The Photographic Society of America (PSA).
