Lake Region State College joins Priyanthi Dissanayake making US Higher Education most affordable

Lake Region State College in Devils Lake, North Dakota is pleased to announce an agreement has been worked out between Priyanthi Dissanayake (www.scholarshipsforusa.com) and Lake Region State College (www.lrsc.edu). "We feel this agreement will pave the way to bring qualified capable and motivated students to our institution. Priyanthi is the acknowledged topmost independent student recruiter in SL having already placed hundreds of students in US. It was obvious that she has won the respect of students and parents of all communities across the Island and has the knack of picking up the perfectly fitting student for each different school".

Lake Region State College is a "Community College." We offer smaller class sizes, easier access to faculty, and a very attractive (all inclusive) cost as low as US$ 11,500 per annum. LRSC also would permit part-time work for Priyanthi's students from the very first semester. Our institution is located in a rural state. The City of Devils Lake has a population of approximately 8000 people. It is a very safe and caring environment. We currently have 35 International Students from 12 countries. We take great pride in having a diverse group of International Students. It is our goal to have 40-50 students from 10-12 countries, other than the US. Creating diversity and the sharing of culture on our campus and throughout the community is our top priority.

Our college offers two types of credit-granting programmes:

The Associate in Arts/Science Degree programme-designed to fulfill the requirements for the first two years of a four-year baccalaureate degree. Students complete a set of core general education requirements (39 credits) plus 21 electives. Upon completion of this two-year degree, students transfer to universities as 3rd year (Junior) students prepared to complete their Bachelor in Arts or Sciences degree in two additional years. This process of completing a 4-year Bachelor degree in two parts is very common in the United States. We call it the 2+2 plan. For instance a Lankan student may transfer all his credits to University of North Dakota to earn a Bachelor Degree there.

n The Associate in Applied Science Degree- chosen from 16 programmes of this type, each designed to prepare students for entry into the job market at the conclusion of two( or fewer) years of study. Programmes included are Auto/Diesel Technician, Simulator Technology, Accounting and Business, Nursing, Information Technology, Sign Language and Interpreting, Wind Energy Technician, etc.
We have had many International Students who chose to obtain duel degrees, for example, receiving their Associate in Arts degree and their Nursing degree. They then have the capability to work at a high paying job while continuing their education at the university level. This has led many of our students to obtaining not only Masters Degrees, but also Doctoral Degrees.

Lake Region State College offers scholarships to International Students that will reduce the tuition by 50%. If selected to receive this scholarship, the students will act as cultural ambassadors, not only on our campus, but also throughout the community of Devils Lake. People on the campus, and in the community, are anxious to learn about the various ethnic groups that we have represented at LRSC. (By Nicole Walford International Student Advisor/Recruiter)

On their maiden visit to Devil's Lake Lankan recruiters Priyanthi and Dissa were escorted by Dr. Victoria Beard Associate Provost and Ray Lagasse Director International Programmes (both from University of North Dakota). They were joined by Laurel Goulding Vice President Student Services/International Student Programme Director and Nicole Walford International Student advisor/Recruiter of the LRSC.
