Over 100 Monash Sri Lanka students take the next step - attaining the Monash University Degree

These students, after successfully completing the Monash University Foundation Year and Diploma programmes, have transferred to Monash University Australia and Malaysia to pursue their preferred destination degrees.

Their hard work was rewarded at the annual ANC Awards Night held on July 22, 2009 at The Hilton Colombo with the presentation of their completion certificates by Ms. Kim Styles, Deputy Director Monash College Australia.

Amongst them was the recipient of the prestigious global Award of Excellence, Thushanth Ganeshan, for achieving the highest results in the Diploma of Information Technology from all the Monash College students worldwide. Madushan Dahanayake won the award of Excellence for Monash University Foundation Year, securing the top result for Globalization Part A across the globe. This was what they had to say.

Thusant Ganeshan (Lyceum International school) . "I got 3 A passes for my London A Levels and making a decision on which university to go was hard work as I had a lot of options. I think enrolling at Monash College was a wise decision made by myself as well as my parents.

For students like me who are freshly out of school, Monash College offers a pre-university orientation, making the transformation easier.

I really enjoyed my time at Monash College and am certain that I will cherish those wonderful memories forever" Ganesh transferred to Monash University Australia for the Bachelor of Computer Science degree at Caufiled campus.

"I am having a great time in Monash College Sri Lanka. The people here are friendly and the lecturers are very experienced. The award was unexpected and I was very surprised to get the award as it is a very prestigious award.

The lecturer who taught the subject was very good and the course material really helped me in getting this award.

I will be transferring to Monash University Australia for the Bachelors of Information System "Accepted as the equivalent to the Australian Year 12, the Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY) programme prepares OL students for any destination degree at Monash University including Business, Medicine, Engineering, IT, Architecture, Law, Arts and Biosciences.

The Monash College Undergraduate Diploma program in Business, Engineering, Arts and IT offered in Monash College Sri Lanka is equivalent to the first year of the Monash University degree in Australia.
Student can then transfer to Australia, Malaysia or South Africa for the 2nd year of their desired destination degrees.
