Kiwis fly high against Lankans juniors

The visiting New Zealand side gave a warning and showed what’s in store when they sent the Sri Lanka Cricket .

Development bowlers on a leather hunt as they amassed a massive 437 for 7 on day two of their three day practice match played at the Colts ground. This was after bundling the home team for 159 on the opening days play. The New Zealand innings were propped by half tons from Daniel Flynn (75), Ross Taylor (93), Brendon McCullum (78) and an unbeaten 96 by skipper Daniel Vettori.

The innings came to light with a third wicket partnership of 109 runs between Flynn and Taylor which was followed by a 93 stand for the fourth wicket between Taylor and Jess Ryder. Later in the innings skipper Vettori and Brendon McCullum added another brisk partnership of 155 runs in just 180 balls which helped them reach the mammoth score. For the local bowlers skipper Jeewan Mendis came out on top capturing four wickets.
