Dissanayake family Tennis; Dissanayake’s family sport

The Dissanayake family – parents Anura and Mala, Dilenthi and Dilantha – carried all before them at the Kandy District Annual Tennis Tournament conducted by the Kandy Garden Club.

The family won a mind-boggling 19 trophies, while Dilenthi and Dilantha emerged the outstanding players in the women's and Men's categories respectively. At some finals, the family members opposed each other, most notably in the mixed doubles final where sister and brother defeated mother and father.

While praising the achievements of the "Family Dissanayake", The Chief Guest, Mayor of Kandy LB Aluvihare commended the Kandy Garden Club for having kept the game alive during the last 135 years.
