Rupavahini brings Avurudu for displaced

Sri Lankan Rupavahini Corporation will celebrate Sinhala and Hindu New Year with a special journey to North, where displaced Sri Lankans celebrate festival at refugee camps. Titled as ‘Kandamalu Bendagena’, Rupavahini crew will go to visit displaced people in Menik Farm camp, Vavuniya collecting gifts in a way of new clothes, toys and books for children, food and household needs from the Southern parts.

The journey started on April 4 from Tangalle will come to Rupavahini Corporation at Bauddhaloka Mawatha passing Galle on April 5 and will leave for Kurunegala on April 6 and Mawathagama and Anuradhapura on April 7 and will reach Vavuniya on April 8.

The gifts will be distributed at a New Year celebration at a camp on April 8.
