Far from the battlefront
Powerful notes of a song waft through the still clear air, competing only with bird calls and accompanied by the orchestra of the cicadas and the rhythmic beating on tables. Tranquillity and peace, enhanced by the surroundings…………a river gently flowing by, a landscape of green, mostly coconut country on one side and mountains on the other, a far cry from the dust and the grime, the blood and the horror of the battlefront.
Thank you for steering our cricketers to safety

It’s with gratitude and thankfulness that the whole country watched and read about the heroic act of the Pakistani bus driver who was conveying our cricketers to the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore on that fatal day-March 3.

If not for the timely and level-headed action taken by Mehar Mohammad Khalil who was driving our cricketing heroes to the ground, it would have been a disaster not only for cricket fans but for the whole country.
