Colombo goes Country with Country Roads XVII - Cowboy Festival & Fair

This year, the 17th installment of the ever-popular Country Roads concert for children will be holding a unique family fun fiesta - the Cowboy Festival & Fair. Scheduled for Sunday, March 29th, from 4.30 p.m. onwards, at the Dutch Burgher Union (DBU), Thunmulla.

Tickets are priced at a low Rs.300/- and are available at the gate and at selected Cargills Food City outlets. The Country Roads tribe will also be enforcing a strict ‘Jeans & T-shirts’ dress code policy, while cowboy hats are optional.

Children are especially sure to enjoy the picnic setting which will offer up a wide variety of food & beverage stalls and activities, including BBQ and traditional country and ethnic cuisine, games, horses, and many more.

Every effort is being made to transform this year’s Country Roads into a true family affair as the festival features an open-air concert at a picnic-friendly venue.

Country Roads brings you Sri Lanka’s first-ever ‘Country-Western & Folk’ themed open-air acoustic concert extravaganza; with featured performers and Country Roads mainstays Astrid Brook, Mariazelle, Cosmic Rays, Anno Domini and the Country Revival Band as well as 2009 additions Flame and Thilan serving up acoustic versions of country-western and folk classics, including popular hits by the Eagles, Simon and Garfunkel and others.

The proceeds of the concert will go towards displaced children based in camps in the north through Save the Children. The event is sponsored by Dialog and Cargills. For more details, interested persons could contact Dhammika at 2304179.
