‘Good Morning Sri Lanka’ creates bad mood

Ravi John , a loyal MTV fan writes....

I wish to write this as an open letter to the authorities at MTV, who advertise themselves as the unbiased, unafraid broadcasters of People's Views.

While whole heartedly agreeing with this view and admiring their boldness, and having become an avid fan, I am at a total loss as to why they have allowed a catastrophe in their very popular ‘GOOD MORNING SRI LANKA’. This show, as per their own statistics, is viewed by more than 5 million viewers daily on weekdays between 7.00 am and 8.00 am.

But is it due to a dearth of good looking Sri Lankan girls that they have foisted on us, the fans of this morning show, a foreign female. This complaint would be unfair if she was at least good looking. In addition she comes on the show in the most bizarre, unglamorous clothes a woman can wear. After all the very basic premise of putting a female on the show obviously must be to give the show some glamour & femininity. But this ‘lady’ comes on show in denims (excusable), mountain jacket (gross) and canvas running shoes (ghastly).

I do not think I have ever seen her in a dress or elegant ladies shoes. In fact a couple of days ago she came with a shirt, tie and waistcoat. To add insult to injury, the shirt was un-ironed and a couple of sizes too large for her. Is it possible that, other than her fluency in English, all her other assets do not perhaps, bear expose in a dress or saree? Anyway, whatever the reason, I am sorry MTV, I for one switch off the program when she happens to be one of the hosts. I appeal to the MTV authorities to have mercy on us, your loyal viewers.
