Professor Mandika Wijeyaratne, MBBS, Ms, MD (Leeds UK), FRCS (Eng), Professor in Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo and Honorary Surgeon in Vascular and Transplantation at National Hospital, Colombo was invited to participate in the Annual General Meeting of the Vascular Society of Great Britain & Ireland 2008. In recognition of the continuous support extended to the Vascular Society he was conferred an Honorary Membership of the Society which is considered to be a very rare Honour.
Prof. Wijeyaratne also conducted a Master Class for the members of the Vascular Society and delivered a lecture on "Vascular Surgery" in Sri Lanka.
