Dance to the African beat

The third African Night dinner dance today, November 30 at the Cinnamon Grand promises an exciting evening of African rhythms, food and entertainment.

Organised by the Africa- Sri Lanka Friendship Association with the South African Embassy it will feature a dance and music troupe from South Africa flown down especially for the occasion.

Known as the Peace Cultural Group, its members cross boundaries of gender, age and language, with many hailing from the country’s rural underprivileged communities. The group performs across different genres of both song and dance also incorporating opera extracts re-arranged to contemporary style.
The Peace Cultural Group has performed in major South African political, commercial and cultural events. This however, is the group’s first foray abroad.
