Threewheel driver arrested with grenade inside book

A three-wheel driver carrying a grenade concealed in a book after cutting the pages to the shape of the grenade was arrested at a Check point in the Kelani bridge on the entrance to Colombo city limits, SSP Ranjith Gunasekara said.

The policemen on duty on suspion had checked the book which was unusually heavy.

SSP Gunasekara said that the suspect was believed to be linked with an underworld group.

The detection came less than a month after a school teacher was found with bomb concealed in a book made in the similar fashion the grenade was carried. .
