Sri Lanka will not bow down to pressure: Bogollagama

Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama told Parliament today that the government would not bow down to any kind of pressure by the international community on the agenda which Sri Lanka was following in countering terrorism.

He said there is no space for terrorism in Tamil Nadu and Rameshwaram and India has no intention in nurturing terrorism.

Minister Bogollagama said that the behaviour observed recently from politician is not surprising, especially when an election is round the corner.

He said that President Mahinda Rajapaksa in a telephone conversation with Indian premier Dr. Manmohan Singh had reiterated that Sri Lanka is in a mission eliminate terrorism and that the Government would agree on a political solution only if LTTE lay down arms.
