TMVP cadre shot dead in Kalavanchikudi

An 18 year old TMVP cadre identified as Thiruchelvam Rajendran was found dead in Kalavanchikudi today, police said.

Rajendran ran an upstair liqour store in Kalavanchikudi. He had organised a party this evening together with a friend known as Kiriya.

An unidentified person had come upstairs at around 6pm and had opened fire at the two friends. Rajendran died on the spot while Kiriya had jumped off from the two-storey building and had run off to the jungle. Drops of his blood were found near the premises.

The police is still looking for Kiriya and the assailant, police said..
