Ranil calls for intrnational probe on Monday's suicide attack

Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe today called for an international investigation on the suicide attack which claimed the lives of Major General (Retired) Janaka Perera and 27 others in Anuradhapura.

The opposition leader in a statement made in parliament said that they were not satisfied about the manner in which the investigations were being conducted and therefore wanted a foreign police to carryout the probe.

Mr Wickremasinghe produced a letter in which the UNP had sought security for Monday’s event of opening a UNP office in Anurdhapura office where the suicide attack took place.

The letter was produced in the wake of police and government denials that security had been sought for the event.

Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayaka assured that a full inquiry will be held into Monday's suicide attack..
