60 year old woman knocked by bus at pedestrian crossing

A 60-year old woman was killed at the pedestrian crossing near Mt. Lavinia general cemetery after being knocked by Matara-Colombo intercity bus, today morning.

Mt. Lavinia police OIC Mahesh Perera told Times Online that the driver had been arrested and that the death was due to the negligence of the driver.

He said that the victim is a resident of Jaffna.
