60 dead in Pakistan hotel inferno
A suicide bomber detonated a truck packed with explosives at the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad today, killing at least 60 people in a brazen attack in the heart of the Pakistan capital. Police said 200 people were also wounded in the massive explosion, which ruptured a gas pipeline and triggered a huge blaze that engulfed the heavily-guarded site in flames.
China orders checks, as milk scandal widens
China ordered widespread checks on dairy products and a recall of tainted items as a scandal that began with powdered baby formula and spread to milk sparked an outcry from China's trading partners.
