Malaysia’s TMI appoints Hans Wijayasuriya as new group COO

Dialog Telekom Director/CEO Hans Wijayasuriya, who drove the growth of the mobile company to be the biggest in Sri Lanka, has been appointed new group chief operating officer of TM International Bhd (TMI) with effect from Monday, September 1, TMI said.

TMI is part of the group that runs Telekom Malaysia which owns Sri Lanka’s Dialog Telekom. Dr Wijayasuriya is been the chief executive of Dialog Telekom Plc.

TMI president and group chief executive Datuk Jamaludin Ibrahim was quoted as saying that the appointment of Dr Wijayasuriya was in line with the group's philosophy of bringing in external talent while simultaneously providing opportunities to internal talent. The Dialog CEO will continue in his current job and will be based in Colombo.
