Dharmasiri honoured at Jothi commemoration

Late journalist, writer and lyricist Dharmasiri Gamage was honoured at recently held 'Siriyame Sara', a musical evening organized to pay homage to late singer H. R. Jothipala.

Coinciding 21st death anniversary of the singer who is known for his unique talent was organized by the Kala Lanka Foundation headed by T.M. Sangadasa, advisor to the National Film Corporation at the Elphinstone Theatre in Colombo.

It was late Gamage who had suggested the name 'Siriyame Sara' for the Jothi commemorative show when it was started 21 years ago and it had been continuing since then. And Kala Lanka Foundation was found by Sangadasa in 1997 to coincide 50th anniversary of Sri Lankan cinema.

At the event held, Anjana Gamage, the daughter of Dharmasiri Gamage accepted plaque given to in honour of the service rendered by her father to Sri Lankan music and specially to Kala Lanka Foundation.
