Story time at Cinnamon Grand Hotel

Story time for kids was held at 'Cheer’s Club,' Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo on December 21– 24, 2007 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

There was Aunty Bertha, a fat, short, fair and beautiful lady, the 'Story Teller,' sitting on a big chair. There were cushions on the floor for every kid to sit on.

I went there with my mum. First we were given popcorn, cookies, sweets and drinks. Then Aunty Bertha would tell us nice stories with big pictures. After that we were given a break. We had cookies, sweets, popcorn and drinks.

Then we had to draw a character from the story and colour it. The first and second were given prizes. After that Aunty Bertha would give us clay, chocolate paper, straws and Bristol board for creative work. The first and second received prizes.

On the last day we had many competitions and we won lots of prizes. Many children came everyday and at the end of the day's work Santa would give us a gift at the exit point.

This event was very interesting, fun-filled and we learnt lots of things.
