Bangalore’s Christ College choir and Merry An Singers in an evening of song

It is a rare occasion when harmonies that are associated with large mixed choirs formed of local and foreign voices are heard in Colombo. Christ College Bangalore is one of the finest university colleges for graduate and post graduate students in this part of the world, and their college choir has won a coveted trophy for the best choir four years in a row.

The Merry An Singers now on their 27th year will share the stage with them at a show titled 'Linked in Song' on May 10 at the Bishop's College auditorium producing a feast of innovative music, enhanced, as usual, by an interesting visual presentation.

Mary Anne David proposes to produce "a rabbit out of her hat" in the form of the MAGSAL singers. This surprise item will showcase talent of a different dimension. Christo Prins on drums, sound engineer Gerry and set designer Nimal will enhance the sights and sound of the concert.

Tickets for the show will be on sale at the BC auditorium and with members of the Mary Anne School of Vocal Music. Reserved seats Rs.1000, Rs.750 and Rs. 500, unreserved seats Rs.300. Proceeds will go towards the Diocesan Fund for Retired Clergy.
