Amex joins SriLankan’s online E tickets

The ceremony aboard the SriLankan aircraft, Zulfiqar Zavahir, Director/CEO of Nations Trust Bank PLC together with SriLankan Airlines’ Head of Worldwide Passenger Sales, Manoj Gunawardana using his American Express Credit Card to make a purchase of the inflight duty free products.

Nations Trust Bank’s (NTB’s) American Express Credit Card together with SriLankan Airlines formally announced the launch of the American Express Internet Payment Gateway with the SriLankan Airlines Internet Booking Engine in a ceremony, unusually held inside aircraft, at the Bandaranaike International Airport.

Through this, American Express Cardmembers will be able to make online bookings of their airline ticket on any SriLankan Airlines flight.
The bank said in a statement that Cardmembers will be offered a saving of US$10 for every ticket booked online and further enjoy a 10% savings on inflight duty free products in the Serendib Treasures catalogue for preorders above US$100 and 5% savings for orders above US$70. Speaking at the ceremony, Zulfiqar Zavahir, Director/CEO of Nations Trust Bank PLC said, “Online transactions are a growing trend and are at a rapid growth stage, particularly in the Asian region. Online bookings have quickly replaced traditional modes of booking, due to the greater convenience and enhanced security it offers.”
