Trinco gets funds for nation building

A sum of Rs. 649 million has been allocated for the implementation of several development projects under Jathika Saviya, Gama Neguma, Maga Neguma and Samurdhi schemes in the Trincomalee district this year, said Nation Building Minister Susantha Punchinilame.He was addressing a media conference attended by district planning officers and Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Ministry officials at Trincomalee District Secretariat held recently.

Large sums of money had been allocated for the implementation of several projects in education, health, highways, electricity, water supply and irrigation in the district. The breakdown of the figures allocated divisional secretariat (DS) wise in the district is:

Trincomalee DS - Rs. 128 million, Kinniya DS - Rs. 85 million, Mutur DS - Rs. 91 million, Kantale DS-Rs. 67 million, Kuchchaveli DS - Rs. 55 million Tampalakamam DS - Rs. 51 million, Seruvila DS -Rs. 38 million, Eachchilampattu DS - Rs. 33 million, Gomarankadawela DS - Rs. 20 million, Morawewa DS - Rs. 29 million and Padavi Sripura DS - Rs. 33 million.
