It's back!
The scripts, the costumes, the glitz, the make-up, the hype, the Drama is back! The Ceylon University Dramatic Society (DRAMSOC) presents the Inter-Faculty Drama Competition, 2008. DRAMSOC is one of the oldest societies at the University of Peradeniya. This event is the highlight of the society's activity for the year, bringing together students from all the Faculties, in a showcasing of amazing theatrical talents.

The Competition – This year's programme includes six plays, three from the Faculty of Arts and one each from the Faculties of Engineering, Medicine and Science. The competitors will vie for the trophies awarded for the Best Play, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Costume and Stage Setting, and the trophy for Special Performance.

The Committee – The organizing committee behind this year's competition is headed by President – Tinaz Amit, Vice President – Milanka Wattegama, Secretary – Arshed Fazal, Assistant Secretary – Hashintha Jayasinghe and Junior Treasurer – Randike Gajasinghe. The Faculty Representatives are Shashika De Silva and Nadee Siriwardena from the Faculty of Arts, Ubaya Higgoda and Danushka Kularathne from the Faculty of Engineering, Dayakshi Abeyrathne and Sumudu Senevirathne from the Faculty of Medicine and Chandhi Goonasekara and Dumindu Wijesekara from the Faculty of Sciences.

The Senior Treasurer of the organizing committee is Dr. S. Sivamohan. DRAMSOC 2008 will be held on Saturday, April 5 at the E.O.E. Pereira Theatre, Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, commencing 4.30pm.Tickets will be priced at Rs.50 for students, Rs.100 and Rs.200.
