Management conference on ‘Beyond Traditional Boundaries’

The 4th Annual Management conference organised by the MBA Alumni Association, University of Colombo is being held on the theme “Beyond Traditional Boundaries” on April 2. The main objective of the conference is to help create an environment and business culture in which unfettered thinking would facilitate development.

In Sri Lanka, despite this imperfect business environment over the last couple of decades, there are many examples of individuals and corporations who have braved the odds and with bold, innovative thinking entered hitherto untapped markets and achieved unprecedented success.

Indian High Commissioner Alok Prasad will deliver the keynote address at the event. Other speakers will be W.K.H.Wegapitiya, Chairman, LAUGFS Holdings Ltd dealing on “Overcoming challenges faced by Sri Lankan entrepreneurs,”Dr.Rohan Fernando, Managing Director, Aitken Spence Plantations on “Diversification in the Plantations Industry – A New Approach,” Dr. Romesh Dias Bandaranayake, Chief Executive Officer ECO Power (Pvt) Ltd on “Building a Successful Hydro Power Company:The Eco Power Experience,” Hiran Cooray, Deputy Chairman/Managing Director, Jetwing Hotels on “Niche marketing of exclusive, unique, tourism products” and Dilith Jayaweera/Ms.Varuni Fernando Jt Managing Directors, Triad Advertising on “Turning right @ Thummulla junction.”
