By Bandula Sirimanna

Intermax Solution (Pvt) Ltd has taken a pioneering initiative in introducing e- bank Lanka, a virtual banking solution to fulfill a long felt need of the general public to access products and services offered by all the commercial banks in the country, government institutions as well as the Central Bank which will be linked online through their trilingual website www. Ebanklanka.com.

This novel web site is to be launched soon. CEO of Intermax Dilan Sanjeewa told The Sunday Times FT that their intention is to create awareness on Internet banking and modern economic and social trends using this website which will outline the history, the functions and the services of the Central Bank.

Action will also be taken to educate the people about the fiscal policy of the country, orders and regulations issued to the public by the Central Bank and also about Treasury bills. He disclosed that the website will provide details of the history and activities of the Bankers' Association of Sri Lanka while special web pages are reserved for all commercial banks registered with the association.

Intermax has taken measures to provide further information about Commerce subjects to University students and the students in other institutions through their website. It will also help them to select their banks according to their choice to deposit their savings.

He said an e-society website will also be introduced where they form IT societies known as E-com societies in schools to improve the IT knowledge. Intermax will implement a personnel e-mail service to support commercial banks. E-mail reports of these banks will be sent to members of the website under the guidance and instructions of respective banks.
