Sri Lankan agents in Western Union’s exclusive Club 500

Five agent locations of MMBL Money Transfer, principal agents for Western Union Money Transfer in Sri Lanka, have been recognized for their superior business processes and excellent customer service by being included in the Western Union Club 500 (South Asia) elite list.

MMBL said in statement that the Club 500 is the brainchild of Western Union, recognizing its top Agent locations chosen from their global network of over 320,000 (including Orlandi Valuta and Vigo) spread across 200 countries and territories. Customer Service Centre of MMBL Money Transfer-Colombo 3, Disna Agency Post Office - Negombo, Koby Agency - Vavuniya, Dedigama Group - Maharagama and Mangalaa Jewelers - Kandy were among those chosen as the Club 500 teams for 2007. MMBL’s Customer Service Centre in Colombo 3 and Disna Agency Post Office were ranked 7th and 8th, respectively, amongst the Club 500 locations in South Asia.

This is a significant achievement for these locations, the local company said. MMBL Money Transfer, a joint venture of Aitken Spence and Mercantile Merchant Bank is the principal agent in Sri Lanka for Western Union Money Transfer, with a local network of over 1400 locations spread across the island. The MMBL network comprises banks, financial institutions and retail outlets.
