Life Insurance week yields spectacular results for Ceylinco Life

Sri Lanka’s first ‘Life Insurance Week’ has generated impressive results for its initiator, life insurance leader Ceylinco Life, the company said.

As new insurance policies generated by the February 11-17 initiative continue to come in, Ceylinco Life reports that the company had achieved direct interaction with more than 200,000 households in the seven–day period.

“The public response was most encouraging,” said Ceylinco Life Chief Executive Director R. Renganathan. “Our representatives have completed need analysis for about 200,000 prospective policy holders which is a remarkable achievement indeed.”

According to Renganathan, Ceylinco Life sold more than 18,500 new policies in February 2008, which is 40 per cent improvement over what was achieved in February last year.

The Life Insurance Week was preceded by a focused, generic media campaign by Ceylinco Life and culminated with a series of interactive events in seven cities Anuradhapura, Trincomalee, Ambalantota, Ratnapura, Gampaha, Teldeniya, and Kalutara.

The public awareness programmes comprised presentations by current policyholders and each workshop took place alongside a free medical camp conducted under the company’s ‘Waidya Hamuwa’ programme at which members of the public are offered free check-ups by a team of doctors.
