Kimarli Fernando to head Pan Asia

Pan Asia Banking Corporation (PABC) saw a board reshuffle on Wednesday with its acting Chairman Upali Weerasingha being designated as Chairman and Nimal Perera, Director PABC appointed as the Deputy Chairman.

“We (the board of directors) also took a decision to appoint Kimarli Fernando, a senior banker who recently resigned from Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) as a director with immediate effect and she will be appointed as Director / CEO on May 1, Perera told The Sunday Times FT on Wednesday.

R. Nadarajah, who has been serving the bank as the Managing Director / CEO during the last few years will relinquish his position as CEO on May 1 and continue as Managing Director till his contract expires by September after which Fernando will take the Managing Director position as well. Perera said that Nadarajah will then be appointed as Consultant Director of PABC.
