Country Roads adds a new star

London-based singer, songwriter and bass player, Amelie Chevalier, will be the newest draw for concertgoers this year as the highly anticipated Country Roads concert takes the stage Sunday, March 16 (today), at 7.00 p.m. onwards at the Mount Lavinia Hotel.

A consummate performer for many years, Amelie first trained in the Performing Arts and has since graduated into a more eclectic range including a variety of different genres such as music, dance and theatre.

Her work as a singer has embodied a diverse range from working with renowned jazz musicians, to performing with bands of multiple repertoires, as well as a being a session vocalist for artists in U.K. and Thailand.

In addition to a performer of Amelie's diverse talents, the Country Roads XVI will also feature a number of returning artists from years past, from the Mavericks from Germany to U.K. folk singer Astrid Brook.

There will also be several returning local artistes such as Anno Domini and Sri Lanka's only Country & Western Band, Cosmic Rays. Also performing will be the Country Revival Band featuring the Country Music Foundation's own Feizal, Jury, Ranjit and Hamilton.

Country & Western and Folk music concert is held in aid of children and tickets now available at Cargills Food City outlets at Kirulapone, Kohuwela, Majestic City, Mount Lavinia, Nawala and Staples Street. Come sing along and enjoy an evening of unique music!
