A change of pillows?

While all indications are that Mihin Air CEO Sajin de Vass Gunawardena is on his way out due to this airline set up less than a year ago incurring staggering losses running into billions of rupees, his father A.P.A.de Vass Gunawardena, the Lankaputra Bank chairman has been given a promotion in being appointed, with immediate effect, as Chairman of the highly profitable and yet troubled National Lotteries Board. Incumbent NLB Chairman Upali Liyanage, who fielded some embarrassing audit queries recently, has now moved to the Lankaputra Bank as its Chairman.

The Sunday Times reliably learns that the transfer orders had been sent to the Treasury this week by the Presidential Secretary Lalith Weeratunga. Both institutions come under the Finance Ministry. (RA)
