Top PC maker now into television sets

PCH Holdings, probably Sri Lanka's biggest maker of personal computers, has now stepped into the television business and is churning out TVs.

Its subsidiary Panora Corporation is introducing "Panora Televisions" through its channel partners with Kandy being the first city where the product has been launched to be followed across the island during the first two quarters of 2008. Panora Televisions and other electrical products are manufactured under the expertise and technology of Panora Taiwan, which is the international carrier of the locally celebrated Panora brand of desktop computers, Laptops, UPS Systems, Servers and related accessories, the company said.

Rizwan Anise, General Manager for Panora Corporation said that even though TV is a highly competitive and fast growing product category, they were confident of securing a healthy market position because of the high reputation 'Panora Brand' has in the local IT market and the price-quality platform it competes on.
