‘Chaaya’, ‘Cinnamon’ of Keells and Heritance Kandalama bag top awards at HRM Awards

Gold for Keells

Keells Hotel Management Services Limited (KHMSL) bagged a Gold award and was adjudged one of the top ten companies in Sri Lanka possessing the best HR systems and processes at the HRM Awards 2007. KHMSL, a subsidiary of the John Keells Group is the managing agents for Keells Resort Hotels, which consists of a portfolio of twelve resort hotels situated in prime locations in Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

With the need to differentiate and create distinct brands to cater to discerning tastes and to create an even better place for itself in the leisure industry, John Keells Hotels created two new brands - 'Chaaya' and 'Cinnamon'. Also Sri Lanka's leading conglomerate Aitken Spence became the only conglomerate in Sri Lanka to be awarded at this HRM Awards.

Aitken Spence' Heritance Kandalama was the only resort hotel to be facilitated, bagging a HRM Silver award. HRM Awards 2007 was organised by the Association for Human Resources Profesionals (AHRP) in collaboration with Hewitt Associates India. The participating organisations were assessed by a panel of judges comprising leading personalities in HR from Sri Lanka and India. Ten Gold Awards and nine Silver Awards were presented at a grand ceremony held at Cinnamon Grand recently.
