Chinese New Year at AGH

Chinese New Year will be celebrated at the Taj Airport Garden Hotel in Seeduwa from February 5 to Sunday, February 17. Discover the fun and excitement of celebrating the Chinese New Year with hotel's new Chinese Chef Xiong Yong and one sure way to celebrate is to feast on traditional Chinese New Year food.

Everything associated with Chinese culture and especially the food served for the Chinese New Year is very symbolic, representing good luck, health, wealth, happiness and long life for those partaking in this feast.

Each dish on the menu presented by Chef Yong, for the Chinese New Year celebration is carefully chosen for its symbolism: whole fish for abundance, seafood for happiness, oysters for business prosperity, and clams for new opportunity. While the infusion of colour of red and gold symbolizes happiness and wealth.

The traditional food served for the Chinese New Year at the Golden Dragon Chinese Restaurant for dinner features Soups - both vegetarian and non vegetarian wholesome Bean curd and vegetable soup, sweet corn asparagus soup, seafood lanton, chicken and crabmeat soups, while for starters there is a tempting selection from Chicken and vegetable dumplings, Garlic fragrant pork chop, Lobster onion vegetable, and vegetarian starters of crispy vegetable with plum sauce, crumb fried mushrooms and friend bean curd.

The main course has typical Chinese New Year fare both vegetarian and non vegetarian of Bamboo shoots and black mushroom soya bean sauce, sizzling bean curd, sesame paste lettuce, while the non vegetarian selection of steamed fish fillet served with Chinese wine sauce, fried crab with black pepper, Lobster Szechwan chili and scrumptious fried chicken Beijing style.
