Now ‘Shrek the Musical’

‘Shrek the Musical’ the tale of a big green ogre, has a date on Broadway during August this year. A stage version of the popular DreamWorks feature will begin preview performances in November - with casting, theater and opening date to be announced.

The show, which has book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori, will play an out-of-town tryout at Seattle's Fifth Avenue Theatre.‘It's the plot of the first `Shrek' movie,’ said Jason Moore, who will direct the production. The first ‘Shrek’ film was released in 2001, followed by ‘Shrek 2’ in 2004 and ‘Shrek the Third’ last year.
