A helping hand he never refused

M. Jameel

He was lifted so gently and softly unknown to himself, family and friends, He was spared the pain and suffering that lesser mortals suffer on earth, My personal association with Jameel is as a Board Member of the Colombo Friend-in-Need Society.

Over the years he became one of the main pillars of the Jaipur Foot Programme, purely because of his willingness to undertake responsibility and work untiringly towards implementing the various projects of the society. As Chairman of the Mobile Workshop, he took the services of the Jaipur Foot Programme to every nook and corner of the country, which needed careful planning and dedication.

Soon after the tsunami when funds started pouring in to the society from donors abroad he did not hesitate one bit to come forward and offer his services to launch a Tsunami Housing Project which built nearly 100 houses for the victims of the tsunami.
Jameel was a disciplined and caring human being who radiated love and compassion towards the vulnerable in the community. He will be missed by not only his family but by his colleagues who worked with him on many a charitable organization.

May You Rest In Peace!
