Former Foreign Sec. to UN?

H.M.G.S. Palihakkara

Former Foreign Secretary H.M.G.S. Palihakkara is tipped to be appointed as Permanent Representative to Sri Lanka’s Permanent Mission to the UN.

The Sunday Times learns that Mr. Palihakkara’s name has been sent to the Foreign Ministry by the President’s Office following consultations with him.

He is due to replace Mr. Prasad Kariyawasam who is due to end his term in June. Mr. Palihakkara when contacted by The Sunday Times declined to comment about the pending appointment.
