JKOA wins top industry awards

John Keells Office Automation Pvt. Ltd. swept the boards with wins in all four business units, in awards conferred by both their foreign principals, Toshiba Corporation and Riso Kagaku Corporation.

Two Golds, a one Bronze and a one Special award were added to JKOA’s already formidable wins in many areas of sales and service, the company said in a statement.

Toshiba adjudged JKOA winner of the coveted PC Gold Award in the Toshiba Laptop laptop category as well as the Projector Gold award for exceptional growth in sales of the Toshiba Multimedia multimedia projector. The company was also awarded the EID Bronze for the copier business, where JKOA’s Toshiba Photocopier photocopier sales performance was evaluated with against the entire Asian pacific and Middle Eastern region. Riso Kagaku Corporation of Japan, the world’s largest manufacturer of digital duplicator systems, also stepped in to recognise JKOA with the RISO Award for outstanding sales of Riso Digital digital Duplicatorsduplicators.

JKOA’s YoY (Year on Year) sales growth of Toshiba Notebooks leaped to a phenomenal 257% increase this year, while YoY Toshiba Projector projector sales grew by a substantial 105%. Sales of the Riso Digital digital Duplicator duplicator soared by164% over last year’s volume. The copiers also grew in double digits, the JKOA statement said.

JKOA Vice President / Chief Executive Officer Chandima Perera said service quality and product quality are the hallmarks of the business and ‘we will continue to raise the bar even higher in the future.”

Last year JKOA introduced “Bridging innovations with service” a service quality campaign that evaluates the competency levels of Toshiba technical service staff and provides them with the necessary training. Of the 920 participants in the Hardware category, all of whom were qualified with TSDNET on-line tests and registered with the QSC, JKOA’s Sandun Lenora was placed third and was awarded a Bronze.

Twenty participants were the final contestants in the Network category, in which JKOA’s Harindra Karunasinghe won a Silver in second place. The final contest for Network and Hardware participants was held in Singapore.

The presentations were made at a felicitation ceremony graced by John Keells senior management. JKH Chairman Susantha Ratnayake, presented the Awards. Malik Edwin, Head of Sales Mass Merchant, was presented with the award for Photocopiers while Neville Samaranayake, Head of Sales Channels won the special Riso award and Kishan Wanduragala, Senior Sales Manager Direct received the award for the Notebook category, Mahendra Subasinghe Senior Manager Direct, Greater Colombo won the award for the Projectors business unit. JKH senior management was represented at the ceremony by President - JKH Transportation & IT Group Romesh David and Sujiva Devaraja, JKH Executive Vice President/ IT Sector Head as well as JKOA Vice President / CEO Chandima Perera and Shivantha Kahawela, Asst. Vice President JKOA.
