Chilly nights to continue

The chilly weather prevailing over many parts of the country in the nights and mornings is largely due to dry conditions and likely to continue for a few weeks, a Meteorology Department official said yesterday. “During the dry weather period, the temperature drops especially in the night. Even in Colombo the night temperature will drop to 21 degrees Celsius,” he said. The official said that except for mild showers in the Eastern province, the rest of the country would be dry for a few weeks.
