Eight firms waiting to list at Colombo Stock Exchange

Eight firms which have submitted their applications more than a year ago to list in the stock market, are biding their time due to the uncertainty in the country, according to a Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) source.

“The companies are waiting for the situation to improve and also the interest rates to decline,” he said.

He said that there is an insurance firm which is very keen on listing and the others are mostly family companies. “The situation in the country with bombs going off in Colombo and now the suburbs is stopping these companies,” he said, adding they have been waiting for the situation to improve for over a year.
