Harold Fernando sings cricket

Harold Lakshman Fernando who is an announcer in the English Service of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation has released two songs on CD recently. One of them contains the life story in song of one of the world's greatest batsmen Don Bradman and the other song is about our very own world renowned Muttiah Muralitharan, who broke Shane Warne's tally of 708 wickets. The melody, singing and lyrics of both songs is by Harold while the music has been composed, played and recorded by Jagath Wickramasinghe.

A singer, songwriter Harold has been doing the Saturday Club and the Sri Lankan Originals Hit Parade broadcast on Saturday and Sunday at 6.30 p.m. over the Commercial Service of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation encouraging our local singers in the Sri Lankan Western Originals Music scene.

One of the programmes the Sri Lankan Originals Hit Parade presently is sponsored by the National Lotteries Board. The Saturday Club will also be sponsored from 2008. The song on Bradman is titled. 'The Boy from Bowral'and Murali's song is titled 'Spin Wizard - Murali'.
