William Gopallawa Mawatha has turned out to be a death trap

The area close to the Courts Complex at William Gopallawa Mawatha in Kandy has turned out to be a death trap with at least nine deaths being reported on the adjoining railway track.

Lawyers complain that lack of proper office space has compelled them to put up offices in the backyards of houses adjoining the rail track with clients and lawyers having to cross the rail track to reach the Courts Complex.
