Global Management Accounting Conference in New Delhi

The Global Summit of Management Accountants organized by the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI) and jointly hosted by the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB), the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP), and the Society of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (SCMASL) will be held in New Delhi from January 10 to 12.

The theme of the Conference is Repositioning the Management Accountant and showcasing him as a strategist and performance management specialist is the theme of this global summit: that is "bean growing" rather than "bean counting”.

The summit will have also have the technical tie up with the Global Management Accounting Institutes CMA Canada, CIMA UK and IMA USA.

At the inauguration of the summit there will be an address from Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala, President of Society of Certified Management Accountants together with the Presidents of the Management Accounting Bodies of the South Asian countries.
Indrajith Fernando, President SAFA and Mr. Edward K F Chow Chairman PAIB of the International Federation of Accountants too will also speak at the inauguration.

International speakers include Robert S. Kaplan, Professor of the Harvard University, Gary Corkins, author of books on ABC Costing from USA, Steve Vieweg, President of CMA Canada, Gordon Grant, President of CIMA UK, Paul Sharman, President IMA USA, Edward Chow, Chairman PAIB IFAC and a host of speakers from India, Pakistan, UK, USA and Canada.

On January 12, Anton Rock Fernando, Finance Director of Asia Pacific Breweries, an FMCG in Sri Lanka, will address on the new CMA as a Business Strategist and Performance Management Expert - SME Sector. At the valedictory sessions of the summit a special address will be made by Ajith Nivard Cabraal, Governor, Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
